The average homeowner is now aware that pricing, for custom made blinds, is lowest through the Internet. The manufacturing companies like Hunter Douglas, Springs Window Fashions and the Levelors of the world, inflate their pricing so they can fluctuate the discounts of the many different levels of retailers they cater to. Like in any other major industry, the more you sell, the better your discount. So, while the local mom and pop shops are offering you 85% off with a free installation, and the Home Improvement Stores are having you wait 4-6 weeks for the next available sales associate, the Internet retailers are breaking records and are getting the best discounts of all... And, for the most part, are turning their product around in 1-2 weeks. It’s all about Volume. So, If you are looking to be catered to, by the service of a decorator, and need somebody to coordinate your bedspread with your soft treatments, the Internet is not the most practical place to shop. But, as far as buying window blinds for your home, the Net is by far, the best way to go. Granted, the e-blind sites cannot offer you a shop- at- home consultation, and they don't even have any displays you can play with, but at least you know now, there exists the service of a professional installation...and measure.
